Tom Trent first worked for us more than twenty years ago, when we were building our three bedroom, passive solar home in the hills of Sonoma County . Tom proved to be a terrific problem-solver when faced with interpreting sketchy architectural plans rather than the usual, more detailed blueprints.

Naturally good natured, he maintained his composure in the face of multiple, and often on-the-spot, design changes. He collaborated well with all the personalities involved in the project, including other carpenters, the architect, various sub-contractors, and the owners. And he was a good listener, a not insignificant quality for an owner-builder project like ours.

When we added a guest house to our property several years later, we called Tom, and if we ever have another building project, we will certainly call him again.

We are writing to recommend the work of Tom Trent Builders. Over the last eight to ten years, Tom and his men have done several projects for us at our ranch. They have always used quality material and shown excellent workmanship.

List of projects:

• Replaced the old wood shake roof with a metal roof with gutter on the garage
• Replaced a fiberglass roof on the back porch with a metal roof and gutter
• Removed an older shower and made a two tier clothes closet with accordion door
• Remodeled a broom closet and made a seven drawer easy roll out storage unit
• Replaced a series of ten windows on the shop side of the barn
  --Did structural repair to the floor of the barn, put in a concrete apron the length of
  the barn with the proper angle to assure water drainage
