This arbor became the focal point of a larger project to create a stunning landscaped entrance to this Cazadero ranch home. Curving concrete steps, curbs and walkways were constructed to develop two larger planting areas and several smaller ones.

The arbor was built using Redwood milled on site from an older fallen tree. 4” thick slabs were cut from the log, then sawn, planed and sanded to make the three arches. The horizontal members came from 3” thick recycled material once used in a Redwood water tank. Only the posts and hardware were purchased at the local sawmill.

This was a great opportunity to design/build something beautiful re-using old growth Redwood that has become all too scarce.
